Architect

Carlos Prata

He was born in 1950 in Porto, where he has always lived.

He completed the Architecture course at the School of Fine Arts of Porto in 1975, obtaining the diploma of Architect in 1980 – after presenting an internship report and providing a public exam classified with a grade of 18 values – with a final average grade of 15 values.
Between 1980 and 1990, he was an assistant in the Territory Analysis discipline of the Architecture Course at the School of Fine Arts of Porto and in the Projects discipline of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto. He was a member of the Board of Directors and Pedagogical Representatives and the Assembly of ESBAP.

In 1999, he was invited to return to teaching at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto, currently being an Assistant Professor in the Project IV discipline.

He was a member of the Board of the Northern Regional Section of the Portuguese Architects Association (AAP) from 1986/1990 for two consecutive three-year terms, the National Council of Delegates of the AAP from 1992/1995 and the National Board of the Order of Architects from 1998/2001, and President of the General Assembly of the Northern Regional Section of the Order of Architects from 2001/2010.
